REALLY, REALLY, BUYER BEWARE! I was buying a new car back in December 2010 and I payed a ONE TIME fee to get a credit report with all 3 scores. I never signed up for any subcription (and yes I read the fine print). Not only did they charge me 14.95 in January and February, but I never got the "subscription benefits" that I was supposed to receive had I enrolled like they say, like email alerts if my credit report changed. I have not received one alert and they claim they have sent them (and no, they are not in my spam folder). To make matters even worse, the scores they gave me were wrong. They were inflated. I know so because two days after I got the report I went to 3 banks and they told me my experian score. They all matched but the one these morons gave me was higher (and no, it was not the FICO score the banks gave me). I called them and tried to have them refund me the money. No luck. They know you would spend more money trying to sue them. After the whole experience you are left feeling like an idiot.

Beware of freecreditreport.com and experian...........ALERT........... Government should shut them down. Hidden charges that you can accidently sign up for, for life, then they only give you part of your money back.
EXPERIAN --- I ordered my free annual credit report( I had to call them because they had my name mispelled) The report arrived 5-7 days, I was impressed, then I found out that it was only the credit report and if I wanted my credit score I had to pay $7.95. Everyone that has had problems with freecreditreport.com and experian,,DONT GIVE IN REPORT THEM AND GET THEM TO SHAPE UP OR SHUT DOWN..............

TOTALLY agree with the blog . I wanted to check my credit also not sign away 14.00 a month for useless info. I was quite surprised by the actions and the attitude of the foriegner who was in charge of cancellling my information / account. Who do they think they are? It was very close to being forced to have sex after saying NO. I was badgered and asked over and over the same question "Was I sure that I wanted to stop this service/'. If the person on the phone spoke English it is beyond me why he didn't comprehend the same language. Sad sad sad way to do business

The Website name is FREECREDITREPORT those who say we should be blamed for rushing through it just to get our free credit report are the idiots. They are clearly trying to trick people into paying for something that is advertised as free. It may not even be illegal but its certainly not good business. I agree I should have looked closer but I sincerely thought I was simply signing up for a free credit report. I never clicked anything or agreed to any charges. It may have been buried in the intentionally long terms of agreement but that is no way to do business. These guys are out to take money from people who had no intention of paying for anything. I am a business owner and I could never have a model like that. If I had customers writing complaints about me online and calling me in anger daily I would change my approach. They are aware that their site is slightly deceptive, enough to trick some of us who may not be paying as close attention as we should, and they choose to keep it that way because its more money in their pockets. The fraud department at my bank said they get calls all the time from this. That Makes them a RIP OFF.

I understand your point, but for me, I did read the website.

On 07/28/2010 there was an unauthorized charge of $14.95 taken from my personal bank account by www.freecreditrinfofcr.com, I did not agree to ANY withdrawl from my bank account. I have yet to receive my FREE CREDIT REPORT; as freecreditirinfofcr.com's website indicated that it would provide to me if I would fill out their questionnaire. It was only after I filled out their questionnaire, that they asked for money. Their questionnaire instructed to press/click the contuine button if I agree to the transaction, I did not agree and press/clicked the X button to exit the questionnaire and the web page of freecreditrinfofcr.com.

they got me for this crap too& I do remember at the time it was a trial& had to be canceled within so many days but by then I had forgotton about it. I tried to get to the same websight to cancel but no luck. Thankfully I had the phone number& called& canceled. This is how these assholes get ya! I sure hope its canceled

I dont get why people complain if you just read the website you would not think you are getting scammed they put it on the front page BEFORE you click anywhere to get your report giving you a chanceif you dont want to do it this way you can get off the website but some of you dumbass are just rushing to get it and print it out not taking you time to why you are putting in card info just like on creditreport.com you everyone one would just fucking read your terms and condition and the full website you would just cancel if you didnt want it but hell you you acctually try the monitoring it might do you dumb fucks some good

This is a pretty deceptive site (the membership info is light blue print on light blue background). It seems that the "freecreditreport.com" name and cute commercials have somehow gotten this business past most people's warning system. What really surprises me is that people don't already know they can go directly to the credit reporting agency and get their free credit report directly. In fact, the freecreditreport.com site actually points the way, albeit in light blue text on light blue background.

Wow....obviously you've not experienced what the majority have, be grateful. When I signed up, I read the disclaimer on the first page, I then canceled immediately, and still am being charged 6 months after the fact! I don't need your pity, but have some compassion for the literally thousands of people who have ben scammed by this company. Those who have had to cancel accounts just to keep from being charged after cancelling numerous times. If my frustration seems over the top, understand, that I've been trying to cancel, to no avail, for months and I continue to be charged for a service that I NEVER signed up for, never wanted. The time involved in this is ridiculous, this company needs to be stopped!

Scammed as well. They say they were monitoring my credit but didn't even have the correct contact information to alert me if there was a problem. This website is very deceptive and should be shut down at minimum.

As for freecreditreport.com, I just caught their monthly $14.95 charge. They refused to refund ANY of my money. It' funny they said "it was my fault for not cancelling the service" in their read response from their representative. If they have a written repsonse for their employees to read, you know they've been deceptive.

I said the hell with the BBB, I filed a complaint with the US Attorney Generals office! Even on their web site, they recommmend using them to check their credit. If that doesn't get some action, nothing will.

CIC Triple Advantage (FreeCreditReport.com) needs to be shut down, and someone's rear thrown in jail,AFTER they refund everyone's money they taken.

I had a situation with that site too and HOPEFULLY is has finally be resolved thought i've been giving the run around for like 3-4 days now. my only suggestion is for those who feel really strong about the issue with this company is for you to send a email to Dateline@NBCUNI.com and to tell anyone and everyone you know who has been abused by this company to send a email A.S.A.P. and if you come across other sites with people complaining about this company and it's tactics then post that email address and have others write too. It's said that this company has been sued before and has ties with the ftc yet they continue on with their desperate tactics to exort money for customers. I can see the title now "how to catch a coporate predator"...I will give my situation another week before i take it global...that's what the world wide web is for...

I got tired of paying the $12.95 a month for the credit monitoring too, so I went to the site to cancel and as someone else mentioned, there was NO cancel membership link, button or whatever. Then, you call the number and it says to go to the website to cancel... WTF!!! THIS is what the FTC and BBB should be looking into. They should be REQUIRED to display a cancel link to continue doing business.
If "I" had the authority to require that, I would make it a law. Then there would be NO excuses for anyone.
The company could simply say, the cancel link is clearly displayed on our site (even if you had to login first) and then the consumer could either keep being billed monthly OR cancel the account.
Everybody wins with this arrangement... No...??
Sure helps to be able to vent somewhere doesn't it...

Duaine, there are hundreds of different credit "scores" in use. The most commonly bandied about is the FICO (Fair Isaac) score. However, most banks and car manufacturers do their own independent scoring. They pull your credit report from the bureau of their choice and compute a score based upon their particular risk model. All three bureaus offer independent "scores" that are *not* the FICO, but most consumers think a credit score is a credit score. Although the info is good to have and check once in awhile, they do try to scam you. After the "trial" period, you are billed 14.95 for the monthly "credit score monitoring". In addition, they say you can upgrade to "ALL THREE REPORTS AND CREDIT SCOREs for just 39.95 month, however, they dont reimburse you the 14.95 already paid unless you ask for it. Thus, you are somewhat double billed.

A lot of this grief would be avoided if only ... PEOPLE READ THE FIRST PAGE OF THE WEBSITE. It says right there on the FRONT. That you will be enrolled into the trial period and you have to call to cancel so that you won't get charged. My parents use the service, get a copy of the report and then cancel after an hour. Majority of the people who go there cancel after getting their free report. So pardon us if we don't feel sorry for you people who don't bother READING and just click away because you saw the word FREE. Duh.

I called the 1-877-481-6825 today (March 25, 2008) and the man who answered cancelled my account (hopefully) and refunded my 12 dollars without asking any questions other than info needed to access my account. I think all the complaints are working...
